Retailers in Bulgaria will have to let customers buy food using their own boxes and containers from February 12 next year, instead of requiring store-provided packaging, bTV reported.

Bulgaria’s Commission for Consumer Protection (CPCo) has fined three major retail chains a combined €95,000 for unfair commercial practices detected at different locations, the regulator said.

Bulgaria could see a major increase in foreign tourists by 2030 under a three-year memorandum signed between the Ministry of Tourism and one of Europe’s largest tourism companies, with the agreement providing for a longer tourist season and new tourism products.
